Handgun or Knife

A fairly scarce .32 S&W 5-shot spur trigger single-action Model 2 (with short ejector rod housing) revolver. This one has about 70% of its original nickel finish, the finish shows signs of wear mostly on the cylinder and near the muzzle. This is a single-action-only model. The original S&W logo black gutta percha grip panels have slightly faded to brown but have fairly sharp checkering. They show no cracks or chips. Has a bright and well-defined bore, with just a bit of speckling. The action functions properly. A good representative example for any collection. Note that this revolver has a very low “first year” serial # 64X that adds to its value. (ENK-121)

Original price was: $895.00.Current price is: $725.00.

A Uberti/Stoeger .44 percussion Model 1858 revolver. This is in like-new condition with just light handling  marks, in the matching number factory box. It appears to be unfired. Nice orginal factory wood grips. It features an 8-inch octagonal blued barrel. Caliber: 44 percussion. Serial # D9204X. Made circa 2008. Generally, Uberti revolvers are preferred over Piettas by practical shooters. American-made .45 Colt conversion cylinders are available via mail-order from a number of vendors for this Uberti model.  (KNS-112)

$875.00

A desirable engraved Uberti/Stoeger .44 “Deluxe Ivory – Buffalo Bill” percussion Model 1858 revolver. This very good-looking revolver is in brand-new condition, in the matching number factory box. The box has one torn corner. It features an 8-inch octagonal blued barrel. Caliber: 44 percussion. It is all beautifully factory engraved from end to end. (See photos.) Has attractive faux ivory composition grips. Serial # WFC24X (The “WFC” in honor of William F. Cody.) Made in 2017. American-made .45 Colt conversion cylinders are available via mail-order from a number of vendors for this Uberti model. This is a limited-production gun that is already appreciating in value. (UIRG-189)

Original price was: $1,050.00.Current price is: $950.00.

A quite nice nickel-plated Charles Clement Belgian copy of the Smith and Wesson .44 Double action Frontier revolver. Marked “For .44 Winchester Cartridge” on the rib, and “Belgium” on the side. Serial number 559X would indicate production somewhere around 1892. The action is a bit stiff, but mechanically this revolver is quite good, with just a slight wobble on the downstroke. The ejector works properly. The original lanyard ring is present at the butt. The bore is a bit pitted but the rifling is sharp. 90%+ of the original nickel finish is still present (see photos). The “CC” (Charles Clement ) logo checkered black gutta percha grips are in unusually nice condition with no chips or cracks.  It is chambered for the man-stopping .44-40 cartridge, so this would make a good practical Federally-exempt carry piece. (CFAE-415)

Original price was: $1,100.00.Current price is: $995.00.

A fairly scarce .38 S&W 5-shot spur trigger single-action Model 2 (with short ejector rod housing) revolver. This one has about 50% of its original nickel finish. This is a single action-only model. The original S&W logo black gutta percha grip panels have faded to brown and have well-worn checkering but they show no cracks or chips. The bore has some pitting, but there is visible rifling. The action works well, but there is some wobble in the cylinder, as the hammer falls. A good representative example for any collection. Serial #1610X. (CPR-038)

Original price was: $725.00.Current price is: $675.00.

A rare First Model S&W Model 1896 Hand Ejector in .32 S&W Long. This was one of Smith and Wesson’s earliest Hand Ejector swing-out cylinder revolvers. With this short-lived design, the cylinder is opened by pulling forward on the knurled ejector rod nub.  Has a 4″ barrel, and original factory black gutta percha grips. The original factory square-butt two-screw target grips have faded to a pleasant chocolate brown and have no chips or cracks.  Has the original patent markings stacked on the cylinder:

Serial # 279X. (Circa 1897.) This is an early-production example with the desirable three-screw sideplate.  Mechanically, this revolver works quite well in both single-action and double-action modes, with a tight lock-up. The ejector works perfectly. The bore is excellent. About 50% original blued finish. The hammer and trigger still show traces of color casehardening. (See photos, for details. ) Also included with this revolver is a period russet brown leather shoulder holster with a replacement canvas strap, that fits it well. (#IPLH-946)

A fairly scarce antique early-model Remington two-barrel Derringer chambered in .41 Remington Rimfire with a 3-inch barrel. The original blued finish has mostly faded to gray, but the finish looks pleasantly even and “honest”, with just minor handling scratches, and no pitting. The barrel latch lever still shows some original color case hardening. The round barrels are in nice shape and sharply-marked “REMINGTON ARMS Co. ILLION, NY.” on top of the barrel.  (This indicates that this pistol is “Pre-Model 95” and hence legally antique.  (It is noteworthy that most of the Remington Double Derringers are the Model 95 and legally modern. The Model 95 was produced up to the 1920s.) Has original Remington black gutta percha checkered grips with fairly sharp checkering, no cracks or chips, and very minor wear. The screw head looks unmolested. The bore has shallow rifling and just a little scattered shallow pits, so it looks quite shootable. The barrel latch works very nicely, with a fairly tight lock-up.  The hammer works perfectly in both the half-cock and full-cock positions. The ejector works properly. No visible serial number. Note: I have a small quantity of original Remington-made non-corrosive pre-World War 2-production copper-cased .41 Rimfire ammunition available separately, but only for the buyers of any of my Derringers. (EEIR-042)

$1,575.00

A scarce antique early-model variant Hopkins & Allen XL single-shot Derringer chambered in .41 Remington Rimfire with a 2.5-inch barrel. The original heavy nickel finish (99%) is in exceptionally nice condition with just minor handling scratches. The hexagonal barrel is marked “XL DERRINGER” on top of the barrel and “Pat. APR 5, 1870” on one flat. These markings are sharp, so therefore this does not appear to be a re-nickeled pistol — but I cannot be certain of that. Original dark wood grips with very minor wear. The bore has shallow rifling and some pitting. It looks shootable. The side-swing barrel latch works very nicely, with tight lock-up.  Serial #16X.  This very low serial number means that it was made circa 1870. Note: I have a small quantity of original Remington-made pre-World War 2-production copper-cased .41 Rimfire ammunition available separately, but only for the buyers of any of my Derringers. (UUU-041)

$595.00

A rare Smith & Wesson 2nd Model DA revolver, .38 caliber, with red mottled gutta percha grips. Serial #3557X. The revolver is in very good+  overall condition. Standard 3.5″  barrel. This revolver retains 60% original blue finish. The hammer and trigger show toned case color hardening. The grips are original mottled red checkered hard rubber and are in nearly excellent condition. The antique “red-grip” variant S&Ws are rare and collectible. (Red mottled grips were a special order feature, and only rarely seen.) The bore has good rifling but with some pitting. The action is crisp and the markings are sharp on this late production 2nd Model. The grips are in very nice condition with crisp checkering, but with some minor sun-fading on the right grip panel. Mechanically excellent.  (GBUR-136)
