Silver Cerakoted .44-40 S&W First Model DA

Smith & Wesson .44-40 Winchester Double Action First Model Revolver with standard 6.5” barrel length. Very fine as refinished – freshly Cerakoted in the “Crushed Silver” high temperature Cerakote color. Just a bit of very widely scattered light pitting is visible beneath the Cerakote. Mechanically fine in both single-action and double-action modes, with just occasional hesitation in single-action mode.  The bore is in nice condition with some shine and just a few scattered pinprick pits. The black gutta percha factory S&W logo checkered grips appear to be original. The grips are slightly sun-faded to chocolate brown and the checkering is worn, but the grips are sound, with no cracks. Serial # 334X.  Pre-1899 manufactured. This would make a great all-weather Federally-exempt carry piece, in a potent and sought-after caliber! (FGZF-009)
