Rare Swedish Model 1896 6.5×55 Rifle — Dated 1898!

SOLD to F.B. — A rare 1898-dated Carl Gustaf Swedish M1896 Mauser full-length rifle. This one is dated 1898 — from the first year of production. The barrel is 28.5″ — which was standard for the Swedish M1896. This rifle’s serial number is 186X, so it probably came from the first or second month of production.  All-matching numbers! The metal finish is excellent, with 99% or better bluing. This appears to be a rifle that was never issued. The wood shows just minor wear from handling and shipment.  There is a small, discreet import mark on the bottom of the barrel, under the cleaning rod. The front sight is the standard trapezoidal blade. The rear sight is also the standard 1896 pattern. The bore has nice rifling.  You will not be disappointed by this “hard to upgrade” rifle!
