Nice Scoped 7×57 Loewe Mauser Sporter

A pre-1899 Ludwig Loewe Sporter chambered in 7x57mm Mauser in what appears to be a Reinhart Fajen Monte Carlo style American walnut stock. This rifle was reworked by a professional gunsmith into a very nice sportier rifle. It has a Shilen match-grade tapered barrel, a Timney trigger, and the desirable Timney rocker-style quiet safety. The bolt was professionally recontoured.  The scope mounting and rebluing were both very nicely done. The scope base is Leupold style, and standard 1″ scope rings are installed, ready for your choice of scope. Has a  white line recoil pad. The Chilean Contract serial number F509X indicates that the rifle was made circa 1896. The bore looks very low mileage.  The stock is in wonderful shape, with just a few handling marks. It has had standard detachable sling swivel studs installed. Obviously, someone poured money into turning this into a quite nice deer-hunting sporter, using top-quality components. (NGEL-241)
