Colt Model 1883 Hammerless 12 Gauge Shotgun

Colt Model 1883 hammerless side-by-side shotgun, 12 gauge.  Serial # 827X. 30″ barrels with solid rib. Has desirable 2-3/4″ chambers rarely seen in shotguns of this vintage!  Has modified-right/modified-left chokes, and 14″ LOP. Case hardened hammerless boxlock action with double triggers and automatic safety. Walnut checkered round knob checkered pistol grip stock with Colt buttplate. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with ebony inlay and latch release. Overall very good condition. Metal parts have faded to a silvery patina with some light surface blemishes. Wood has some beautiful grain. It has been cleaned and the checkering recut. Good bores with good mechanics. Action has nice tight lock-up. With its Damascus steel barrels this gun is being sold as a non-shooter, unless Savage Four Tenner (.410 gauge) inserts, Chaszel 20 gauge inserts, or other inserts are exclusively used. This is a good candidate for use with inserts. Note that I have a pair of used Savage Four Tenners available — for an additional $180. (EPBE-140)
