Colt M1892 .38 Long Colt 1894-Converted

SOLD — A Model 1892 US Army  .38 Long Colt double-action revolver. Factory converted to Army Model 1894 pattern, with the addition of the cylinder latching pin, and remarked on butt. This revolver features blued finish and Army pattern smooth walnut grips. Has profuse inspector’s stamps and cartouches! These include; K.S.M. refurbishment cartouche on left grip panel, matching serial numbers on frame, crane, cylinder release lever, and inside frame. “R.A.C.”  (Rinaldo A. Carr) inspection mark on top left of frame above grip. “K” marked on rear of cylinder. Bottom of grip frame reads: “U.S. Army Model 1894 No 4343,” and “JPM.” Left grip panel stamped with “1904 “K.S.M.” inside circle, and “KSM” on bottom of each grip panel still visible!  Barrel Length is 6″. Serial Number: 434X. Made in 1892, but this went back to Colt for M1894 conversion, circa 1904.  The last patent date marked on the barrel is “95”, indicating that it was re-barreled when converted. Condition: Very good+. Has bright bore, with very good rifling. Metal surfaces show approximately 60% original finish with some surface scratches and handling wear. Grips show some handling marks.
