Colt Army M1892 .38 Long Colt – First Year

1892-producrtion US Army Colt model 1892 .38LC double-action revolver. This revolver is from the first Army 1892 contract of 5,000 guns. Revolver features blued finish, walnut grips, and matching serial numbers on frame, barrel, cylinder, crane, and cylinder release lever. Top left side of frame above grip stamped with “R.A.C.” (Rinaldo A. Carr inspection mark) Bottom of grip frame marked: “U.S. Army Model 1892 No 4315.” Bottom of barrel reads: “P,” “4315,” and “R.A.C.”. Caliber .38 Long Colt. Barrel Length: 6″. Serial Number: 4315. Condition: Very good. Bright bore, with strong rifling and a few minor oxidation marks. Metal surfaces show 90-95% of blued finish, with some surface scratches and minor handling wear. Barrel address lettering showing wear. Grips show some handling marks. Mechanically excellent. This is a nice, honest, unaltered early example that likely saw service in the Spanish-American War.
