Chilean Model 1895 Mauser (Loewe) Rifle with Recontoured Bolt

Chilean Model 1895 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #B522X, 7×57 Mauser, standard 29.5” barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, inverted ”V” front sight and folding leaf rear sight, with cleaning rod. The originally straight infantry-stle bolt handle has been recontoured to a typical sporter style, but otherwise the rifle is unaltered.  Marked on receiver ring with sharp Chilean crest, and on left side ”MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895 MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN”. The B prefix serial shows that it was made circa 1895. Serial numbers are mismatched, as is typical of rearsenalized rifles. (See photosThe cleaning rod is present but has a mismatched numbber. Discreetly import marked by SAMCO on the bottom of the barrel under the cleaning rod. This rifle’s condition overall is very nice with approximately 98% blue finish remaining on the the barrel and receiver.  Has a bright bolt. The triggerguard and floorplate show the most wear, with 95% blue remaining. There is some nice electric bluing on the magazine follower. The wood is very good with a bit of darkening, oil stains, and typical handling marks. There is one small splintered-out section of the handguard, just forward of the rear sight, but that does not affect function. The stock does not appear to have been sanded. Action is smooth, bore is fairly shiny very good+ deep rifling. It easily b passed a muzzle bullet tip test. Since this is a mismatched and rearsenalized rifle and the bolt  handle has already been modified, it would make an affordable “truck gun” shooter or a candidate for sporterizing. (UBK-852)
