Winchester M1886 .45-90 Short Rifle Limited Edition — New In Box — No FFL!

A brand new in the box, 2025 release, Winchester Model 1886 24″ Barrel Short Rifle chambered in .45-90 Winchester. Serial number is 006X — one of just 500 short rifles made in a 2025 limited run by Miroku for Winchester. This short rifle is minty (see photos), but the Winchester cardboard box and foam insert show some shop wear. There is some nice figuring in the stock and forend wood. Here’s the information on this short rifle model from Winchester:

“Model 1886” .45-90.  Barrel Length 24″, Overall Length 41″, Length of Pull 13 1/4″, Drop at Comb 1 1/4″, Drop at Heel 2″, Weight 8 lbs 0 oz, Twist Rate 1:20″, Barrel Finish Polished Blued, Stock Finish Oil, Wood Grade Grade I, Receiver Finish Polished Blued, Chamber Finish Polished, Barrel Material Steel, Barrel Contour is round, Stock Material Black Walnut, Carbine profile blued steel buttplate.”

Note that this is a Winchester-produced replica of their own Model 1886. Barrel is marked BLACK POWDER ONLY”.   mechanically, it is identical except for the addition of a tang-mounted safety.

Important Note: The relevant Federal law that puts this rifle in the “Antique” category reads: “…any replica of an antique firearm if it is not designed or redesigned for using rimfire or conventional centerfire fixed ammunition, or uses rimfire or conventional centerfire ammunition which is no longer manufactured in the United States, and which is not readily available in ordinary channels of commercial trade.”  – 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(3), (a)(16).   There is presently no black powder .45-90 ammunition commercially manufactured in the United States, and it is not readily available commercially.
