U.S. Springfield M1896 .30-40 Krag Sporter — 1897 Production

PENDING TRADE to B.G.: A nicely sporterized Springfield Armory Model 1896 Krag, in .30-40 Krag. Good shootable bore, with distinct rifling, but with some pitting and dark grooves. It passed a bullet muzzle test. Nice even and matching surfaces. 90%+ bluing. Wood finish is VG+, as refinished. Some speckling-patina on buttplate, otherwise metal finish is VG+ to nearly excellent, overall. Has a 92270X serial number. Circa late 1897). Forend nicely shortened, barrel has been shortened to 25″, and a Williams-style ramp front sight installed for sporterization. (See photos.) Includes a leather sling in good condition. (BNC-394).
