SOLD — Scarce Steyr Dutch M.95 Indonesian Carbine in .303 British
A very scarce .303 British Dutch Mannlicher Geweer M.95 Indonesian Carbine. This was a Dutch military contract bolt-action carbine made by Steyr in Austria with an 1896-dated receiver. Has a 17.5″ barrel with a very good bore, and a fairly nice condition European walnut stock. The stock’s side sling swivel slot was apparently filled when this carbine was rearsenalized. It has no import marks. I test-chambered a round of .303 successfully, but I have not test-fired it. It also easily passed a bullet muzzle test. In the 1950s, the Indonesian Armed Forces rechambered most of their M.95 rifles and carbines to .303 British. This carbine is in remarkably good condition, considering Indonesia’s harsh tropical climate. And it is very hard to find one of these carbines .in .303 British built on a pre-1899 antique receiver! Just a handful were sold as surplus and ended up in the United States. (BUL-303)
