Scarce Argentine M1891 Mauser Cavalry Carbine – Refinished

A scarce Mauser Argentine Model 1891 cavalry carbine. Marked “Mauser Modelo Argentino 1891. Manufactura Loewe Berlin” on left side of receiver, has a slightly buffed but still legible Argentine crest at top of the receiver. Chambered in 7.65x53mm Argentine Mauser, with the handy original 17.7″ barrel length.  This was manufactured by Loewe as a military carbine–it is not a cut-down rifle. It is still in its original configuration. Matching serial number A834X on barrel, receiver, and stock. This makes it late 1891 or early 1892 production. Bolt and magazine have no visible serial numbers — apparently buffed off before the metal was reblued. The glossy and very dark re-blue finish is all very nice! All metal parts, stock, and handguard have been refinished. The wood has some typical dings that appear to pre-date the stock sanding. The bore is very nice, with distinct rifling, and just a bit grayed.  This handy length and lightweight carbine should make a great deer-class or family protection practical shooter.  (BEBG-765)
