Nice Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant “Sneak” on 1896-Dated Antique Receiver
SOLD to L.H.: Nice condition WWII Finnish Model 1939 Mosin Nagant rifle in 7.62 x 54r caliber from the final “Sneak” arsenal production in 1968. Rifle was re-arsenalized by Finland on an antique (pre-1899) hexagonal receiver from the Sestroretsk Arsenal. Receiver tang is internally dated “96” for 1896. Serial # 31083X. This is one of a group of M39s that was imported and hand-picked by Pat Burns in the 1990s. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has matching numbers. Metal finish is original blue showing just a little wear, mostly on the buttplate and the sight ears. Barrel has no maker’s mark, but is dated 1968. Bore is very shiny mirror bright, with strong rifling. Bolt number matches (probably re-numbered by the Finnish arsenal.) Floorpate is un-numbered. Original postwar stock has excellent original finish and shows a few very minor handling marks. (See photos.) Complete with a correct original cleaning rod. A good example of a scarce Sneak M39 arsenal built on a scarce and desirable antique receiver! (EEYM-184) Firm Price: $1,475
