Ludwig Loewe M1895 Scout Sporter in 7.62mm NATO

A handy Chilean contract 1895 Loewe 7.62mm NATO arsenal conversion carbine that has been converted to a Scout Carbine. In a black Choate Dupont Rynite sporter stock.  Has a B-Square brand Picatinny-style receiver scope base bolted into the original military rear sight base.  (Will accept Weaver rings.) The stock is in excellent  condition, with just light handling marks.  Has a counterbored and refinished military 17.7″ barrel with no iron sights. The exterior of the barrel has three patches of deep pitting: two below the rear sight base, and one just forward of the receiver. The bore is fairly shiny, with distinct rifling. but some light pitting. The A549X serial number makes the receiver circa 1895. Receiver is marked “NATO 1961” to indicate that it was arsenal converted to 7.62mm NATO. Simply install scope rings and your choice of scope, and you will have a great hunting carbine or truck/ATV carbine. (USCH-762)
