Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser Sporter, 7.65×53

A sporterized Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser rifle.  Very good+ overall condition for a sporter. The original military 7.65×53 Argentine 28″ barrel has not been shortened.  Original military iron sights. The receiver serial # A815X places its date of manufacture around 1893.   The rifle’s receiver, barrel, and magazine serial numbers match, but those on the stock and bolt have been removed. The bolt has been re-contoured to a nice sporter profile. The shortened blond military  stock has been nicely refinished, and has just a few dings. The original military steel buttplate is still in place, but I’m including a Tourbon padded brown leather slip-on recoil pad. Has about 80% bluing on the barrel, receiver, and magazine.  The bolt is still in-the-white (as original), but it has partially dulled.  The Argentine crest has been removed. Note that the original handguard has been removed. There is also some minor pitting on the floorplate, but that would be quick and easy to buff and polish. This nice rifle appears to have had very little use after sporterizing. So this should make an accurate hunting rifle. Note that reloadable 7.65mm Argentine Mauser softnose ammo is still made by both Norma of Sweden and PPU of Serbia.  A practical sporter that is also a Federally-exempt antique, at an affordable price.
