Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser Scout Sporter

A nicely sporterized Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser scout rifle with forward-mounted scope.  Excellent overall condition as refinished and sporterzed. (See photos.) It is in a like-new condition Boyd’s gray/black laminate stock with a Boyd’s-marked slim recoil pad. Has QD sling swivels, front and rear, and a quakeinc.com modern padded nylon and rubber sling. Has 98% original arsenal blue finish on the barrel, receiver, and magazine. There is no crest on the receiver ring, and it has been nicely reblued. This rifle’s serial numbers all match on the receiver, barrel, magazine, and bolt. The serial number is H135X, making this rifle circa 1897 production. A Vortex Crossfire 2-7×32 scout (long eye relief) duplex reticle scope has been installed, using a Picatinny short rail scope mount that is firmly attached to the original arsenal rear sight mount.  The scope looks brand new. It is mounted far enough forward that the rifle can still be quickly loaded with stripper clips. Chambered in 7.65mm Argentine Mauser. The barrel length is still the original 28.5 inches.  It could easily be shortened by any competent gunsmith to any length over 16 inches that you’d prefer, to suit your taste and intended use – — you can make it quite short (17″ to 19″) for a saddle gun, or perhaps 20″ to 25″ for hunting rifle, or leave it as-is for use as a counter-sniper rifle. This gun has an excellent bore with sharp rifling and a nice smooth action. Obviously, someone put some money and time into this rifle.  This would make a great Federally exempt hunting rifle or counter-sniper rifle. Note that Norma and PPU factory 7.65mm Argentine Mauser ammo is readily available. (ILR-606)
