Scarce EK M5 Bowie Effingham, Illinois Fighting Knife
A scarce and desirable pre-owned (not used or carried) EK M5 Bowie “WWII Commando” knife with 12.5’’ overall-length fixed blade knife. U.S.A.-produced in Effingham, Illinois. Included is the original Ek black Cordura heavy-duty ballistic nylon sheath that shows slight handling wear. Judging by the Effingham, Illinois marking and the sheath pattern, we assume that this fixed-blade knife was made in the late 1990s or early 2000s. Has a 6.5’’ stainless steel full-tang clip blade with EK logo stamped on one side; black Micarta grips, brass grommets, and a brass crossguard.
Note: Ek originally built custom and limited-production knives specifically for soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines. To purchase an Ek Commando Knife one had to send in proof of military service. American servicemen have carried Ek Knives in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and countless other locations in between. (KFY-035)
