Chilean Model 1895 Mauser (Loewe) 7.62mm NATO Bolt Action Rifle

Chilean Model 1895 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #F956X, re-arsenalized to 7.62mm NATO, standard 29.6” barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, inverted ”V” front sight and folding leaf rear sight, with cleaning rod. Marked on receiver ring with sharp Chilean crest, and on left side ”MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895 MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN”. The B prefix serial shows that it was made circa 1895. This rifle’s serial numbers are mismatched, as is typical of rearsenalized rifles. The cleaning rod is absent. This rifle’s condition overall is nice with approximately 90% blue finish remaining on the barrel and 60% blue finish remaining on the receiver.  Serial Number: B490X. Condition: Good. Good bore and strong action with nice rifling, Bore needs very light cleaning from firing. All metal shows light original blued finish with moderate finish wear overall, Stock and forend are solid free of cracks and breaks with usual dings and handling marks overall from age and use. Rifle shows usual moderate dings and handling wear overall. Good clean receiver crest. Wood is very good with a bit of darkening, oil stains, and typical handling marks. Action is smooth, bore is very good with very good+ rifling. Since this is a mismatched and rearsenalized rifle, it would make an affordable shooter or a candidate for sporterizing. (UPA-477)
