SOLD — Winchester M1890

SOLD — Scarce Winchester Model 1890 Takedown chambered in .22 Short. This takedown rifle was made in 1895. (Serial # 5269X.) I bought this rifle from a gun shop in southern Arizona. Though it shows its age, it is in good overall condition for a 125-year-old rifle. It appears to be unaltered, although the magazine tube loading slot is shaped for cartridges longer than .22 Short. Has a gray-brown patina but no significant signs of pitting. Most of the bluing has worn off, except for the top of the bolt. The octagonal barrel is roughly 24-1/2″ overall. Markings are crisp, indicating that the metal has never been re-blued. The bore shows minor corrosion, however still has a shine with clear rifling. Missing one small screw in top of slide. (Does not affect function.) This should make a great shooter. And it is a good candidate for conversion to .22 LR, and/or rebluing. (IMGP-100) Firm Price: $1,550 — SOLD
