Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser Sporter, 7.65×53

A sporterized Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser carbine.  Very good+ overall condition as refinished and customized. The original military 7.65×53 Argentine barrel has had sporter sights installed.  (A Williams-style ramp front sight and a folding adjustable rear sight. It has commercial walnut Monte Carlo style sporter stock (possibly  made by Reinhart Fajen, but unmarked) with a White Line recoil pad.  (See photos.)  Has a turned-down calvary-style bolt.  Serial # G676X places its date of manufacture as 1895 or 1896.   The serial numbers are mismatched. 95% bluing on the barrel and receiver with some spotting, about 70% bluing on the magazine with some spotting, and no finish on the bolt handle — it was originally in-the-white, but it has dulled to an even patina. The magazine catch screw is corroded, but that could easily be touched up. The Argentine crest has been removed and the receiver ring nicely polished and reblued. The bore is nice — fairly shiny, with distinct rifling. So this should make an accurate hunting rifle or ATV Gun/Truck Gun. Note that reloadable 7.65mm Argentine Mauser softnose ammo is still made by both Norma of Sweden and PPU of Serbia.  A practical and attractive sporter that is also a Federally-exempt antique, at an affordable price.
