Rare Swedish Model 1896 6.5×55 Rifle — Dated 1898!

A rare 1898-dated Carl Gustaf Swedish M1896 Mauser full-length rifle. This one is dated 1898 — from the first year of production. The barrel is 28.5″ — which was standard for the Swedish M1896. This rifle’s serial number is 104X, so it probably came from the first month of production.  All-matching numbers except for the rear barrel band. Even the cleaning rod is numbered and matching! The metal finish is excellent, with 98% or better bluing. The wood shows just minor wear from handling and shipment.  The front sight is the standard trapezoidal blade. The rear sight is also the standard 1896 pattern. The muzzle is arsenal threaded and has a commercial tread protector in place. The bore has nice rifling.  (EPIK-189)
