SOLD — Colt Model 1878 Coach Gun 12 Gauge Hammer Shotgun

PENDING SALE: to L.V.: Scarce Colt Model 1878 Hammer Shotgun, 12 gauge.  Very low serial # 232X. Barrels with solid rib have just recently been professionally shortened to 18-1/2 inches, making this a handy “coach gun.” Manufactured in 1880. Confirmed 2-3/4″ chambers, modified/modified chokes, and 14″ LOP. Overall good condition. With its Damascus steel barrels this gun is being sold as a non-shooter, unless Savage Four Tenner (.410 gauge) inserts, Chaszel 20 gauge inserts, or other barrel inserts are exclusively used. Since this has confirmed 2-3/4″ chambers, and I’ve test-fitted a pair of Savage Four Tenner inserts, you can be assured that this gun is a good candidate for use with such inserts.
