1895-Dated Swedish M1894 6.5×55 Sporter Carbine

A desirable 1895-dated Oberndorf Mauser-made Swedish M1894 6.5×55 sporter.  The walnut stock is a custom-made Monte Carlo pattern with a raised cheekpiece and drop heel. It has some nice cross-figure and a contrasting ebony nose cap. Typical of custom sporters re-built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, this little Swede has had a folding-leaf rear sight dovetailed into the barrel, a nicely-executed muzzle piece (with thinning bluing) and dovetailed front sight installed. The receiver has NOT been drilled and tapped, so this is a great candidate to turn into a scout carbine. Has a nice shiny bore. Nice crisp receiver ring markings–clearly dated 1895!
