SOLD — Scarce Winchester M1894 Saddle Ring Carbine (SRC) – 1897

SOLD — Scarce Winchester Model 1894 saddle ring carbine (SRC) made in 1897. Wood stock and forend are in great condition for their age, with no cracks or splits. Metal in nice condition, showing wear but no abuse. Barrel and magazine tube still have plenty of bluing, but the receiver has partly gone to gray patina, with silvery bare metal on the sharp edges. The nearly complete finish on the saddle ring does not match the worn finish of the rest of the carbine, so I suspect that it was either refinished or replaced. The bore is bright and shiny, with nice distinct rifling. Serial # 109,76X. This carbine was from a ranch in Burnet County Texas, about 30 miles south of Fort Hood. The squared folding buckhorn sight may not be original to the gun. (PSBY-113) Firm Price: $2,950
