Winchester M1894 .30-30 Saddle Ring Carbine — Made in 1898

Winchester Model 1894 .30-30 Saddle Ring Carbine (SRC). Made in 1898, serial 13692X. Has a standard carbine a 20-inch round nickel steel barrel, blade front sight, full-length magazine tube, and carbine buttplate. This carbine’s bore is in very good used condition. I would rate the bore an 8 out of 10. The mechanics are quite good.  The original factory saddle ring is present and retains its proper round shape. The rear sight looks correct for the period but might not be factory original. Metal finish is quite nice with 70% original bluing on right side of the receiver and 50% on the left, with a few spots of tarnish and scratches from saddle scabbard carry. The small tang screw is missing and the large tang screw is bunged up, so I suspect that this carbine may have had a tang sight installed at one time. Wood has typical scratches, nicks, and impressions yet it remains solid aside from one small non-threatening crack on the left side just behind the receiver. 9See photos.) This saddle carbine has that honest “fresh off the ranch” look, and indeed it came from a ranch near Palisade, Colorado.  (EANL-448)
