Scarce Finnish Mosin M39 on an Antique Receiver

A very good condition WWII Finnish Model 1939 Mosin Nagant rifle in 7.62 x 54r caliber that has the desirable Gear Logo “S” marking on the barrel indicating the 1941-dated barrel was manufactured by famed Finnish arms manufacturer SAKO. (Suojeluskuntain Ase- ja Konepaja Oy “Civil Guard Gun and Machining Works Ltd.”) This rifle was re-arsenlaized by Finland on an 1896-dated Federally antique hexagonal receiver. Rifle is lightly import-marked “CAI” on right side of barrel. Has matching numbers. (Serial number 21410X). Metal finish is original blue showing substantial wear but no pitting except one tiny patch on the bottom of the magazine. Bore has fairly deep pitting but distinct rifling. So this rifle is best considered a collectible wall hanger unless it is re-barreled. Buttstock has a prominent straight grain and what appears to be original finish and shows just light handling marks. Has no cleaning rod. A good example of an M39 arsenal built with a Sako barrel on a scarce and desirable antique receiver! (LEM-387)
