Original Schrade Vietnam USAF Pilot Survival Switchblade Knife

A scarce Vietnam War-vintage Schrade Two-Bladed Pilot Survival Switchblade Knife. “SCHRADE WALDEN N.Y. USA SSTAINLESS” is stamped on the tang. The knife has orange grip panels. The second blade — manually-opening — is a parachute cord-cutting hook. The switchblade action is crisp. The main blade has some wear and minor sharpening marks. The paracord cutter blade is nearly perfect. One orange grip panel has two hairline small cracks (see photos). Sorry, we can not ship automatic knives to California, Delaware, Florida, or  Washington, D.C.  Consult your state and local laws on automatic knives before ordering! (EBP-967)

Note: In July 2004, the year the Schrade company celebrated its 100th anniversary, the Schrade factory in Ellenville was closed. The Schrade name was purchased by Taylor Brands, LLC, who continue to manufacture products under the Schrade brand name as well as Old Timer, Uncle Henry, Imperial, and Smith &Wesson knives. But that production is now in mainland China.  Thus, the pre-2004 Scrade knives are highly sought-after, by collectors.
