Marlin Model 1892 .22 Takedown

SOLD — Marlin Model 1892 Takedown chambered in .22 Long Rifle. This takedown lever-action rifle was made in 1896. (Serial # 14408X.) I bought this rifle from a gent in north-central Idaho. Octagon Barrel. Nice wood. Near excellent condition. Markings are crisp, indicating that the metal in those areas has never been buffed, and that possibly that this gun was never reblued. The crescent buttplate is in excellent condition. The bore shows minor corrosion, however still has a shine with quite distinct rifling. Barrel and magazine tube have 95%+ blue. The receiver’s blued finish has faded to a brown patina, with only 20% original bluing remaining. The only alteration that might have been made to this rifle was deepening the chamber, to accept .22 Long Rifle. This is a dandy little Marlin that is collector quality. (CMFS-100) Firm Price: $1,650
