Custom Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser Sporter

A custom sporterized Ludwig Loewe M1891 Argentine Mauser.  Excellent overall condition as refinished and customized, with just a couple of “vault rash” handling marks. (See photos.) Has a now-scarce AWC Systems Hyper-Dyne muzzlebrake. The Hyper-Dyne brake significantly reduces both recoil and the “dust and debris” signature during prone firing. These excellent brakes are no longer produced, because AWC shifted most of their production to their well-known suppressors. The custom semi-pistolgrip stock has been green and black camouflage painted. Has a recoil pad and a front QD sling swivel. Parkerized barrel, receiver, and magazine. The custom fluted barrel measures 20-1/2″. Custom dovetail receiver scope mount. Custom dovetail forward “scout” scope mount. Custom dovetail front and rear sight bases.  (No scope, scope rings, or sights are included.) The magazine has a mismatched serial number. It is presumably still chambered in 7.65mm Argentine Mauser, but have that confirmed by a gunsmith, before firing. This gun has an excellent bore with sharp rifling and a nice smooth action. Serial # C351X. Obviously, someone “poured money and time” into this rifle! I found it, overlooked, at an auction. By the look of it, I suspect that this was someone’s Gunsmithing School “Senior Project” rifle. If it were recreated today, it would cost well over $1,200 FRNs, just in gunsmithing time and custom components. Note that Norma and PPU factory 7.65mm Argentine Mauser ammo is readily available, even in the current ammo drought.  All in all, a quite practical sporter/scout/counter-sniper rifle that is also a Federally-exempt antique!
