Chilean Model 1895 Mauser (Loewe) Bolt Action Rifle

Chilean Model 1895 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #F956X, 7×57 Mauser, standard 29.6” barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, inverted ”V” front sight and folding leaf rear sight, with cleaning rod. Marked on receiver ring with sharp Chilean crest, and on left side ”MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895 MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN”. The F prefix serial shows that it was made circa 1897. Serial numbers are mismatched, as is typical of rearsenalized rifles. The cleaning rod is absent. This rifle’s condition overall is nice with approximately 95% blue finish remaining on the the barrel and receiver.  Has a bright bolt. The triggerguard and floowplate show the most wear, with scratches and just 70% blue remaining. There is some nice electric bluing on the magazine follower. The rear sight slider is absent, but they are commonly available. Wood is very good with a bit of darkening, oil stains, and typical handling marks. The stock has been been sanded. Action is smooth, bore is very good with very good+ rifling. Since this is a mismatched and rearsenalized rifle, it would make an affordable shooter or a candidate for sporterizing. (UBB-475)
