Ludwig Loewe Argentine M1891 Rifle in Original Configuration
A nice condition Mauser 1891 in 7.65x53mm Argentine contract Mauser. Typical scrubbed crest (probably before export to Peru.) Made by Ludwig Loewe, Berlin. Ser. # E470X . Its E-prefix high serial # indicates that it was made around 1894. Nice bore with solid rifling. Most importantly, it is still in original military configuration! (The vast majority of these rifles were sporterized, during the sporterization craze of the 1960s.) Wood shows no signs of refinishing. Near excellent original finish wood with just a few minor dings. Nice original bluing except for the front metal, the barrel bands, and where the crest was removed. All serial numbers match. Note that the pictured green leather sling is NOT included. (That is a Finnish sling that I intend to use as a bonus item with a Finn M39 rifle.) (BBY-821)
